Sleep with the Author. Well, not really! But, February being lover’s month, husband and wife team Colin and Julie Angus adventurers and authors will share the amazing stories of their 144 day odyssey in a rowboat on the Atlantic Ocean. Julie, an intrepid scientist and National Geographic’s 2007 Adventurer of the Year will present her book, Rowboat in a Hurricane, a gripping adventure story of a woman’s difficult and courageous journey with her partner in a cramped vessel. More importantly, it is an extraordinary record of one of the world’s most endangered ecosystems.
Three Day Package Includes, ferry and on-island transportation, cooking class, 2 nights accommodation, two breakfasts, Saturday lunch, an Italian Feast and Julie’s book Rowboat in a Hurricane.

Arrive at the Horseshoe Ferry terminal by 4:00 pm for the 4:30 sailing. Please note, there is a 10 minute cut-off, if you have not purchased your ticket at least 10 minutes before departure, you will not get on that sailing.A Shuttle will pick you up at the ferry and deliver you to your lodging. Check in at the historic Lodge at the Old Dorm, Bowen's finest lodge.

Appeteasers at the Old Dorm. Are you daunted at the thought of entertaining and crafting delicate morsels of palate pleasing delights? Are you curious about slow food, small plates and grazing? Spend 3 hours in the kitchen with Dan Parkin, innkeeper and one of Bowen’s great cooks and raconteurs. Learn some simple tips, tricks and techniques, how to mix-it up, dress-it up and have fun in the process. We westcoast folks have access to an amazing array of ingredients both local and foreign, discover where to shop, and make it easy. There will be lots of noshing, good wine and Bowen stories too! Each session is a new experience.
